The RadiBrush Glassy Carbon-PHEMA polymer brush coating is a poly(hydroxyethylmethacrylate) (PHEMA) brush on glassy carbon. The glassy carbon-PHEMA polymer brush is hydrophilic, which is commonly utilized to minimize or prevent protein adsorption in surfaces. The hydroxyl groups in the PHEMA side chains may additionally serve as coupling agents for further chemical modification or immobilization of specific functional groups, such as biomarkers or biomolecules (Prog. Pol. Sci. 2012, 37, 871– 906).
