RadiDiazo
Highly Uniform Coatings
RadiSurf Scientific offers a range of high quality, nanometer coatings on stainless steel – an attractive tool for research applications. RadiCoats are created by electrochemical reduction of aryldiazonium salts are linked to the stainless steel surface through covalent bonds. They are very robust, and they display excellent stability in aqueous and organic solvents, in a broad pH range (depending on the nature of the coating), and in a broad temperature span (-40 – 300 °C) (Chem. Soc. Rev. 2011, 40, 3995-4048). With highly uniform coatings of 1-5 nm thickness, the coatings may e.g. serve as a way to chemically modify the properties of the subtrate interface or as coupling agents for further chemical modification. The substrate interfaces with aryldiazonium salts has e.g. found great interest in the field of sensors and biosensors (ACS Appl. Mater. Interfaces 2017, 9, 5031-5049), for the attachment of biomolecules (J. Org. Chem. 2010, 75, 2474) or nanoobjects (Chem. Mater. 2008, 20, 61-64), and in microelectronic applications (ACS Nano 2015, 9, 6018-6030). The portfolio of RadiDiazo surface coatings is rapidly expanding, but RadiSurf Scientific also offers customized surface coatings created by electrochemical reduction of aryldiazonium salts.
